I find myself unable to pass by blooming almond trees without wanting to paint them. There is something in their delicate blossoms that brings a sense of quiet light and inspiration. When I stand at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, I feel its energy flowing through me. In this sacred place, the past, present, and future seem to merge into one. I can sense the breath of history, the prayers of thousands who have come here for centuries seeking comfort, hope, and a connection to God. This energy is indescribable—it fills my soul with warmth and light, making me reflect on the meaning of life and my own roots. Here, I feel that I am not alone. I am part of something great, eterna

Tonight, I witnessed something truly extraordinary in Jerusalem. The holy city came alive in a dazzling display of laser lights, and it wasn't just a show — it was pure magic. Accompanied by music, the entire Old City lit up with brilliant beams, as if every street, every stone, and every archway had come alive with light and sound. It felt like the walls of Jerusalem were speaking to us, sharing ancient stories that filled the night with an unforgettable energy. The city was literally breathing

"Golden Jerusalem" In this painting, I wanted to convey not the city itself but its light and holiness. The white and golden strokes symbolize the spiritual radiance of Jerusalem, where stone seems to dissolve into the sky. It is not about architecture but about the feeling of eternity and prayer that fills the air above the city. Each brushstroke is like a sound of prayer rising upward. My Jerusalem is a reflection of the soul reaching for the light. Oil on Canvas by Alex Levin www.ArtLevin.com

The Second Temple in Jerusalem holds profound significance for me as a symbol of spiritual elevation and the heart of the Jewish people, where faith, traditions, and history were deeply intertwined. Whenever I think about it, I envision its majestic walls, the rituals, and the countless people who came to its gates seeking connection with God. This Temple was not just an architectural marvel—it was the soul of Jewish life, a place where the earthly and the divine met. For me, the Second Temple r

Today is Simchat Torah when Jews around the world dance sing and rejoice with the Torah. It is a day of light faith and gratitude. Exactly two years ago on this very day October 7 Israel was attacked and the whole country was plunged into pain and darkness. But today two years later the Jewish people stand united and strong having prevailed in all wars and kept their faith and spirit alive. The dances of Simchat Torah today are not just joy they are a symbol of renewal victory and the eternal li

Today is Jerusalem Day, which commemorates the liberation and reunification of the city in 1967 during the Six-Day War. This day symbolizes national unity and a return to the historical and spiritual roots of the Jewish people. Jerusalem holds great significance as a spiritual center and an important site in religious texts. The celebration strengthens the connection to history, fosters patriotism, and underscores the importance of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The day features official ce

Eternal Jerusalem: City of Past and Future Jerusalem is a place where every stone breathes history and faith. This city draws people from all corners of the world, as it weaves together millennia-old traditions and the sacred sites of three religions. The Old City, with its Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Armenian quarters, opens a doorway into the past, where each corner holds its own unique energy. The Western Wall, the Temple Mount, and the ancient streets are places where people find answers

Today, I was in the synagogue, surrounded by the powerful sounds of the shofar. These sounds resonated deeply within, stirring something profound in my heart. The shofar is more than just an instrument; it is a bridge between us and the Divine. Each blast, whether long or short, carries a message: awaken your soul, reflect on your life, on your faith, and your connection to the Creator. With Rosh Hashanah approaching, it becomes especially important to listen to the shofar. It reminds us of the

Today, I find myself in Jerusalem by the Western Wall to celebrate Sukkot — one of the most joyous holidays of the Jewish people. The Western Wall, a timeless symbol of our connection to our ancestors and to God, is alive today with prayers and blessings. This holiday reminds us of the miracles of the Exodus from Egypt and how our ancestors lived in temporary shelters, wandering through the desert. Today is especially significant with the Priestly Blessing, as the Kohanim raise their hands to bl

Today, I met an amazing person named Meir at the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv. He’s a true sculptor, creating incredible animals out of clay. My son Daniel and I approached to see his work up close, and I was amazed by what we saw. Right before our eyes, his hands brought to life incredible biblical animals—bulls, sheep, and rams—seemingly emerging from the clay. Meir draws his inspiration from Israeli nature, and his creations feel like they carry the spirit of ancient times. He showed us how, in

The preparation for Sukkot in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem is a unique and vibrant event that reflects the deep traditions and religious devotion of the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community living there. In the weeks leading up to the holiday, the streets of Mea Shearim come alive with activity as people prepare to build sukkot (temporary huts), purchase necessary materials, and decorate their homes. Throughout the neighborhood, small stalls pop up selling the Four Species (Arba Minim):

I am currently working on a painting depicting Hasidic dancers immersed in a circle of joy and spiritual elevation. Their dance is more than movement; it is a prayer expressed through their bodies and a profound connection to their faith and traditions. I use bright, vibrant colors to convey the passion, energy, and lively rhythm of their dance. Each brushstroke reflects their inner light, their exuberance, and the power of unity. Through these vivid tones, I aim to capture how the Hasidic dance

Today is a day that will be remembered in history. A day when it was announced that three girls, held captive by Hamas for over a year, have finally been freed. This event symbolizes hope, faith, and resilience that our nation holds onto even in the darkest times. I am in the heart of Tel Aviv, standing in the main square, which has become a place of incredible unity today. Tens of thousands of people have gathered here—waving flags, their eyes shining with emotion, their hearts full of joy. The

Today, I attended Eden Hason's concert in Tel Aviv. The venue was packed with 12,000 people, an incredible atmosphere filled with energy and emotion. But the most touching moment of the evening came when he dedicated a song to four of our female soldiers who were freed from Hamas captivity earlier today. It wasn’t just a performance—it was a moment of unity, where the entire audience felt pride, pain, and hope all at once. The song carried a special meaning, and the hall fell into complete silen

"At the Flea Market in Jaffa" I am currently painting a picture dedicated to the Flea Market in Jaffa, a place I absolutely love. The atmosphere here is always vibrant and colorful, with lush green trees and lively streets. This place feels like it was made for artists, and I aim to capture all its beauty and energy on canvas. Every detail matters, from the smiles of passersby to the rustling of leaves in the wind. My painting is still in progress, and I seek to convey the full palette of emotio

Simchat Torah is a celebration that fills the soul with joy and energy. It’s the day when we dance with the Torah, praise it, and express our gratitude for this eternal gift given to us at Mount Sinai. It’s a festival where everyone, regardless of age, feels part of something grand and sacred. In Israel, Simchat Torah has a special atmosphere. The streets come alive with songs and dancing, people carry the Torah in their hands, whole families gather in synagogues and public squares to share the

Today, in the heart of Jerusalem at the Western Wall, I witnessed one of the most significant events of the Sukkot holiday — the Priestly Blessing. This ancient ritual dates back to the times of the First and Second Temples, when the priests, descendants of the Kohanim, would bless the people of Israel. And now, thousands of years later, this tradition lives on. Twice a year, on Sukkot and Passover, the Kohanim raise their hands and recite the sacred blessing for the people of Israel. Today, hun
