Trying my first starfish 🤩🌊🐟 This is a purple ochre starfish, one of the most common starfish species in BC. They’re very abundant here, and numbers have rebounded since sea star wasting disease decimated populations decades ago. The regulations state the daily limit as 6, with no other distinguishing information on size or species. Sunflower seastars (with up to 24 arms) numbers are still low and considered endangered - so leave them alone! #catchandcook #starfish #ocean #seafood
